Setting up a business is exciting.

It's also one of the most challenging things I've ever done.

When I launched B Line Electrical Ltd, I knew the electrical work would be the easy part. What I underestimated was everything else that comes with running a business.

Finding customers.
Managing cash flow.
Marketing.
Quoting.
Bookkeeping.
Building a reputation from scratch.

As a sole business owner, you quickly realise you're not just an electrician anymore. You're also the accountant, customer service department, sales team, marketing manager and operations director.

There have been challenges along the way, but every completed job, every happy customer and every positive review makes it worthwhile.

To anyone thinking about starting their own business: go for it.
It won't always be easy, but it will always be worth it.
